Terms of Service

1. What Guildly does
Guildly is a platform that introduces customers to verified tradespeople in their area. We are an introduction service — we do not employ or sub-contract the tradespeople listed, and we do not carry out the work ourselves. Tradespeople operate independently and are responsible for the services they deliver. Customers are responsible for their own agreements with tradespeople they choose to hire.
2. Using the platform
To use Guildly you must be aged 18 or over, resident in the United Kingdom, and able to enter into a legally binding contract.
You agree to keep your account details accurate, to keep your password confidential, and to use the platform lawfully and in line with our Acceptable Use Policy.
Trades additionally agree that all information on their public profile — trade type, working area, credentials, reviews invited — is true to the best of their knowledge. Misrepresenting credentials is grounds for account termination.
3. Payment
Customers pay a small per-quote credit fee when they submit a quote request. Credits are purchased in packs via Stripe. Credits are non-refundable once used; unused credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase, or on account closure, subject to Stripe's processing policies.
Trades on the free plan pay nothing. Trades on paid plans (Starter, Pro, Growth, Unlimited) are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. You can cancel any time from the billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not refund partial months.
All prices are shown in GBP and are inclusive of any applicable VAT. Receipts are provided via Stripe.
4. How introductions work
When a customer submits a quote request, the trade sees the job description, timescale, and budget. Customer contact details (name, mobile, address) are released only once the trade accepts the quote, and only to the extent needed to deliver the job.
Once a job is marked complete, both sides are invited to review the other. Customer-to-trade reviews appear on the trade's public profile. Trade-to-customer reviews are visible only to other Guildly trades considering future enquiries.
5. Reviews
Reviews must be honest, based on a completed job booked through Guildly, and written in line with our Acceptable Use Policy. We may remove reviews that breach these rules. We do not edit the substance of reviews; we may correct obvious typos on request.
Each party is allowed one reply per review of them. Reviews survive account deletion — they represent the other party's experience and are anonymised rather than removed.
6. Our role, your responsibility
Guildly takes reasonable steps to verify tradespeople on the platform, including the invite-only joining mechanism where existing trades vouch for new ones. We do not, however, guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or any other aspect of work carried out by tradespeople. Any contract for work is directly between the customer and the tradesperson.
Disputes between customers and tradespeople should be resolved directly in the first instance. We will help where we can — email [email protected] — but we are not a party to those contracts and cannot adjudicate.
7. Intellectual property
The Guildly name, logo, and platform are our intellectual property. Content you upload (profile details, bio, reviews, messages) remains yours — you grant us a licence to use it to operate the platform for as long as your account exists.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Guildly's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We do not exclude liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
9. Termination
You can close your account at any time from Privacy settings. Your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, with notice where reasonable.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to account holders at least 14 days before taking effect.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
