Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 19 April 2026
Guildly is built on trust. For it to work for everyone, it needs a few ground rules. This policy applies to all accounts — customers, tradespeople, and anyone using the platform in any capacity.
What we expect
- Be honest about who you are and what you do. Profiles, reviews, and quote requests must be accurate.
- Treat other users professionally. The people on the other side of every enquiry are real.
- Keep work and communications related to Guildly jobs on the platform where reasonably possible, so there's a record if anything goes wrong.
- Deliver on what you commit to. Trades — show up and do the work you quoted. Customers — pay for work delivered and be reasonable about access and timing.
What's not allowed
Fake or misleading activity. Don't create fake accounts, fake enquiries, or fake reviews. Don't buy, trade, or incentivise reviews. Don't misrepresent credentials, qualifications, or insurance.
Abuse of other users. No harassment, threats, discrimination, or offensive language towards customers, trades, or Guildly staff. No sharing of personal information about other users outside the platform.
Fraud and financial abuse. No chargeback abuse, no knowingly using invalid payment methods, no inducing customers to pay off-platform to avoid fees, no gaming free-tier limits with multiple accounts.
Platform abuse. No scraping, no automated enquiry submissions, no attempts to bypass rate limits or access data that isn't yours. No interference with the technical operation of Guildly.
Unlawful activity. No using Guildly to solicit or carry out work that is illegal, infringes the rights of others, or requires certifications you don't hold (e.g. Gas Safe for gas work, NICEIC for electrical certificates).
What happens if you break these rules
We take a graduated approach where the circumstances allow:
- Warning. For minor first-time breaches we'll contact you to explain and ask you to correct the behaviour.
- Suspension. For repeat or significant breaches we may suspend your account temporarily while we investigate.
- Permanent removal. For serious breaches — fraud, abuse, safety-critical misrepresentation — we'll permanently close the account. Historical anonymised activity (like reviews received) may be retained to protect other users.
In safety-critical cases (threats, fraud, illegal work) we may skip straight to permanent removal and involve law enforcement where appropriate.
Reporting a breach
If you think another user has breached this policy, email [email protected] with as much detail as you can — dates, messages, screenshots. We investigate every report and reply within a working day.
